Here we have a 19th century Tunbridge Ware rosewood Go-to-Bed box with octagonal sides, c 1875 from the Armoury, Winchelsea UK sale 2023 - 8cm tall
This piece is in very good condition - there are very few very small pieces missing but very hard to see - there are some minor age scratches and loss of varnish with age that would polish out
The interior is subdivided for lighting tapers and matches and the lid has missing a bone taper holder. The beautifully turned base is designed as a match striker.
This Tunbridge Ware G0-To-Bed is made up of the most truly tiny pieces - a really lovely honest and interesting piece -Love it
