Here we have a Chinese tea dust stoneware glazed vase, 25cm high - 2.042 kg
The colour of this vase is fandaveedozy!
Tea-dust glazes on stoneware vessels can be seen among the Tang dynasty brown-glazed wares made at the Yaozhou kilns in Huangbaozhen, Shaanxi province. These glazes were made using loess, a clastic aeolian sediment that is abundant in northern China.
That said we believe this to be a mid 20th century example possible earlier
This vase has an unmarked base and is in exceptionally good condition - there but a few glazing defects, but these are very small and even more difficult to see
