This collection of human anatomy items include a Thackeray artificial ball and socket hip joint, previously the property of Paris Edwards, a Doctor and Accident Specialist who completed the first hip replacement in Wales - A selection of composite skeletal reference items and teaching aids used by the Dr in perhaps explaining the procedure to his patient or teaching future surgeons how to carry out the operation
These were acquired from Dr Edwards son
The Hip itself measures approx 21cm across and has screws in place to hold the cracked bone together
