A Pair of 19th Century Recumbent Polychrome Cows - Adriaan van Rijsselberg Marks to Base 9cm Long
Here we have a pair of 19th century recumbent polychrome cows - Adriaan van Rijsselberg marks to base 9cm long
The mark to the base indicates Adriaan van Rijsselberg - Adriaan van Rijsselberg was a Dutch painter who worked in Delft in the early 18th century. He is known for his decoration of tin-glazed earthenware, also called Delftware, with oriental motifs and colours. He often signed his work with the monogram AR in blue or red
There are no signs of chips cracks or repairs - there is a little light crazing to the glaze - not unusual for pottery of this age
