Robert Wallace Martin (1843-1923) trained as a sculptor. He attended the Lambeth School of Art, where he studied drawing, and the Royal Academy of Art. Robert Wallace worked briefly for J. B. Phillips, an architectural sculptor with offices on Vauxhall Bridge Road. He also worked at C. J. C. Barleys Fulham Pottery.
Robert Wallace founded a pottery in the 1860s that made terracotta sculpture. He is best known for establishing the Martinware Pottery at Pomona House in Fulham, London in 1873.
