A Very Unusual Unique Antique Vesta in The Form of a Shoe 8.5cm Long c1870

Here we have a very unusual unique antique vesta in the form a shoe 8.5cm long c1870

Potentially a one off and a very rare find -everyone I have spoke too has never seen one the same!

We think its made from a mixture of brass, pewter, leather and fur

The tiny tiny spring hinge works beautifully triggered by a tiny switch at the heel - once opened the matches would be stored in the shoe and when needed taken out and struck on the ribbed top - Highly collectable

Certainly European possibly French

There is a very well engraved initial that looks like an 'L' on the top (see image ) with an arrow through it so this looks to be a 19th century love/sweetheart gift
