A beautiful Italian Rimini Blu vase designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi Ceramiche, dating from the 1960s. This striking cylindrical vase stands 22.5cm tall and features the iconic turquoise and cobalt blue glaze with incised geometric decoration.
The Rimini Blu series is one of the most recognisable and sought-after ranges of mid-century Italian ceramics. Designed by Aldo Londi, Bitossi’s artistic director from 1946, each piece was individually hand-decorated, giving subtle variations in texture and glaze depth.
This example displays crisp impressed patterns of dots, crosses and textured bands, with the vibrant glaze pooling into darker tones — a hallmark of the Rimini Blu aesthetic. With its bold colour and modernist form, it is a perfect statement piece for display, highly collectible for lovers of mid-century Italian design.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with light wear to the glaze consistent with age. No cracks or chips. Please study photographs as part of the description. as there are a few very small glazing glitches which is to be expected in the production of this type of glazed vase. Not signed
