A charming antique brass “Home Safe” money box, patented June 11, 1921, complete with its original key. Designed to help households save securely, these early 20th-century British coin banks were made with separate slots for pre-decimal coins including pennies, threepence, sixpence, shillings, and half crowns — with an aperture underneath for inserting paper notes.

This example, stamped “HOME SAFE” No. 52587 on the lid and PAT. 188,828 JUNE 11, 1921” on the base, remains in lovely vintage condition. The brass casing has developed a soft golden patina with age, and the mechanical lock still functions with the key provided.

A fine piece of British savings history, ideal for collectors of antique money boxes, early banks, or industrial design. It also makes a nostalgic decorative piece for a vintage desk or study.
