A small collection of antique British sewing tools dating from the late Victorian to early 20th-century period, comprising two hand-carved bone implements, a steel stiletto with bone handle, and a Morrall’s nickel-plated crochet hook.
These compact tools were used across fine needlework, lace-making, broderie anglaise and tatting, and together form a representative group of domestic craft implements from the era.
The bone pieces display the characteristic warm toning and hand-finished detailing associated with late 19th-century work, one incorporating a small inset metal file used for smoothing thread and lace edges.
The steel stiletto retains its tapered point and original bone handle, while the Morrall’s crochet hook is stamped “MORRALL’S” and “MADE IN ENGLAND 1”, a well-regarded maker known for quality small tools. A pleasing lot for collectors of sewing antiques or as props for period textile displays.
