A richly modelled antique Continental majolica vase, dating to around 1880–1910, featuring an ornate twin-handled form with pierced architectural handles and moulded portrait medallions.
The vase is finished in a deep moss-green majolica glaze with hand-decorated floral reserves to the body, characteristic of Austrian and German ceramic workshops of the late 19th century.
Standing 19cm tall, the piece displays the lively surface textures, contrasting applied colours and expressive moulding typical of Central European faience and majolica production of the period. The underside shows the expected pinkish buff clay body and an incised R decorator’s initial.
A decorative and characterful example of Continental majolica, ideal for collectors of late 19th-century ceramics and those who enjoy richly glazed ornamental pottery.

Condition No post-manufacture chips, cracks or repairs. Several firing-process cracks beneath the glaze, particularly at the inner rim and neck (see photographs), and typical minor kiln imperfections in the glaze. Structurally sound and displays beautifully.
