An ornate pair of antique sugar tongs, likely continental European in origin and dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The tongs are richly modelled in a Rococo Revival style, featuring scrolling forms, stylised masks, and sculptural terminals, with a finely engraved script monogram to the bow.

The piece is stamped with multiple head profile marks, including a male head with the number “2” above and a female head, suggesting continental European silver or silver-grade metal. While the marks do not correspond conclusively to standard French Minerva hallmarks, the style, engraving, and construction strongly indicate French or French-influenced manufacture.

Well balanced in the hand, these tongs combine decorative appeal with practical form and would sit comfortably within a collection of antique table silver or as a distinctive display piece.
