A pair of antique English creamware pie funnels, including a scarce example stamped ‘THE GOURMET PIE CUP – RD No. 369793 PATENT – MADE IN ENGLAND’. The registered design number dates the patented funnel to 1900, placing it firmly in the late Victorian to early Edwardian period.

Both funnels are beautifully made in traditional creamware with fine age-related crazing, naturally developed over more than a century of use. Each is designed to vent steam from pies, preventing boil-over and ensuring crisp, even baking. The patented example features multiple side vents and crown-topped cartouche, while the unmarked funnel shows an early globular form typical of turn-of-the-century kitchenware.

These are wonderful pieces of British culinary history and ideal additions to a kitchenalia collection, display dresser or period cooking set.
