A beautifully preserved early 20th-century German aneroid barometer by G. Lufft, Stuttgart, one of Europe’s foremost makers of precision meteorological instruments. Housed in a finely turned oak case measuring 16 cm in diameter, this example features a visible movement window, metal bezel, domed glass, and traditional weather indications such as Regen, Veränderlich and Schön.
On the reverse, the brass back plate carries Lufft’s maker’s trademark — a pair of dividers enclosing the initials “G L” — confirming its manufacture by the celebrated firm founded in 1881 and renowned for high-quality aneroid instruments.
The movement shows attractive patination, while the oak retains a rich, warm surface tone. A charming decorative and collectible barometer, ideal for studies, cottage interiors or collectors of scientific instruments.
