A superb late-Victorian to early-Edwardian chemist’s poison bottle in deep olive-green glass, featuring the classic raised cross-hatched warning panel used from the 1880s–1910s to signal hazardous contents. This large 12oz example stands an impressive 19.5cm tall, with sharply moulded diamond ribbing to the front face and plain panels to the sides and reverse — a typical format for early poison bottles made for chemists and dispensaries.

The bottle has a thick applied lip and a smooth base with the characteristic oval indentation. The glass retains an excellent glossy surface with strong colour and clarity, free from clouding or residue. These larger capacity examples are far scarcer than the small 1–4oz sizes and display beautifully in apothecary and chemistware collections.

A striking piece of early 20th-century medical and packaging history.
