Brass Model Spitfire Aircraft on Stand with Duxford Battle of Britain 1940 Commemorative Medal

A brass model aircraft, believed to represent a Supermarine Spitfire, mounted on a simple display stand and offered together with a boxed Duxford Airfield commemorative medal.

The aircraft is cast in brass with a rotating three-bladed propeller and is mounted in a flying position on a shaped brass stand. It displays well and would make an attractive addition to a study, office or aviation collection.

Included is a boxed commemorative medal marked Battle of Britain 1940 on one side with an image of a Spitfire. The reverse bears the crest and wording:

ROYAL AIR FORCE STATION
VERITUS CELUM

The presentation box is marked:

DUXFORD AIRFIELD
SOLID NICKEL SILVER

Although not originally associated, the medal complements the aircraft well and both are included in the sale.

Condition

Both pieces are in good vintage condition with light age-related wear consistent with use and display. The brass aircraft has an even aged patina and the propeller turns freely. The medal remains in its original presentation box, which has minor wear and rubbing to the exterior. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
