Vintage David-Andersen White Enamel Leaf Clip Earrings by Willy Winnaess, c.1950s

An elegant pair of vintage Norwegian leaf earrings designed by Willy Winnaess for the celebrated silversmith David-Andersen, dating from around the 1950s.

Each curved leaf is fashioned in sterling silver with finely detailed white guilloché enamel and delicate branching veins. The reverse has a warm silver-gilt finish and a hinged clip fitting, making the earrings suitable for non-pierced ears.

The earrings are clearly marked D-A, 925S, STERLING and NORWAY, together with David-Andersen’s scales emblem and Willy Winnaess’s distinctive W-in-a-circle designer’s mark. The clip fittings are separately marked METALL.

Willy Winnaess was an important designer for David-Andersen during the mid-20th century. His enamelled leaf jewellery has become particularly associated with Norwegian Modernist design and remains sought after by collectors of Scandinavian silver and enamel jewellery.

Presented in a vintage Scott Cooper Ltd jeweller’s box. The box is included but cannot be confirmed as original to the earrings.

CONDITION

Good vintage condition. Light age-related surface wear. The reverses and clip fittings show visible rubbing, tarnishing and darkening consistent with age and use. All our silver is left unpolished to give the new owner the option to polish or keep original patina 

The vintage presentation box has noticeable wear around its exterior edges. Please study all photographs, as they form an important part of the condition description.
