Fine Edwardian sterling silver pedestal bowl crafted by the notable silversmith Henry Matthews in Birmingham, bearing the date letter for 1909.
Henry Matthews was celebrated for producing exquisite silver smalls, dressing table items, and decorative tableware during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. This elegant piece features an intricately pierced trellis and scroll lattice design along the wide, scalloped rim, beautifully contrasting with the solid polished basin interior. Raised on a slender stem supported by a stepped circular foot, it is a quintessential example of early 20th-century British silversmithing artistry.
