Crafted as part of a traditional dressing table or vanity set, this piece features a smooth, streamlined sterling silver handle mounted to a soft, chamois-leather-covered curved block base.

Before modern liquid nail polishes and synthetic buffers became common, these luxury implements were essential vanity accessories used with polishing powders to achieve a natural, high-gloss shine.

The silver mount bears an ornate, struck maker's mark (with an ampersand punch) from the period. A wonderful and functional piece of antique vanity history.
