French Art Deco Swallows Sculpture on Marble Base – 1930s Spelter Birds in Flight, Signed Style Decorative Statue, 35cm Wide 32cm Tall

A striking original French Art Deco sculpture dating from the 1930s, featuring two swallows in flight mounted on a stepped marble and onyx base.

The birds are cast in spelter with a dark bronze patina, mounted on a stylised green base with strong Deco lines and movement. The marble plinth combines creamy white stone with inlaid black and brown veining, typical of French work from the interwar period.

Although unsigned, the design closely follows the style of Maurice Frecourt and Limousin, known for their elegant depictions of birds and animals during the Art Deco era. This example displays beautifully, combining geometric and natural forms in perfect balance.
