An original limited-edition silkscreen monoprint by South African-born British artist Gail Altschuler, titled First Light I. (apologies there is some reflection on the main image that is difficult to avoid when photographing a glazed picture like this)

This striking abstract composition is built from layered bands of rich blue, ochre, yellow, rust and burgundy, creating a bold yet tranquil image suggestive of an early morning landscape. The torn-edged forms and textured printing technique give the work great depth and originality.

The print is hand signed in pencil by the artist to the lower right, titled 'First Light I' to the centre and numbered 2/12 to the lower left. The reverse retains the original LondonArt gallery label describing the work as a Silkscreen Monoprint, with an original retail price of £160.

Gail Altschuler (born 1957) is a South African-born British artist whose colourful abstract prints and later ceramic works have been exhibited and collected internationally. Her early silkscreen monoprints are increasingly sought after for their distinctive layered compositions and vibrant colour palettes.

Presented behind glass in a simple contemporary light wood frame and ready to hang.

Condition

Very good overall condition.

The print displays well with strong, vibrant colours. The frame has only light age-related wear. Minor reflections are visible in the photographs due to the glazing.

Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
