Warning -We will not sell this knife to anyone who cannot prove they are 18 or over no matter their age - thank you.

British military jack knife from the 1st World War. Clearly marked 1938 to the blade. Bakelite handle and carbon stell blades

Broad arrow ordnance mark to marlin spike -  While these knives were primarily made as a sailor’s knife they were issued to all branches of the British Military and Commonwealth forces

Date and makers mark marks on blade

Because Sheffield, England was and remains the centre of knife making in Great Britain, these knives are often referred to as “Sheffield Riggers” regardless of the Company of manufacture.

Those made in Sheffield will either be marked with the Sheffield Arrow stamp or the word Sheffield, or both along with the individual company trademark. Most will also have the date of manufacture. Collectors prefer knives stamped with a war time manufacture date (1939-1945)

Makers mark faint but readable on the blade as Wade and Butcher - Sheffield

Wade & Butcher, a renowned cutlery manufacturer from Sheffield, England, produced various types of knives, including those used during World War I. Their knives were known for their quality and durability.

One Notable example is the British army issue jack knife from 1937, which features a marlin spike and a tin opener

Copper carrying hoop, stubby blade, large blade ( 9.5cm long) and spike (11cm long) to untie knots in rope

Knife in used vintage condition, I have oiled the knife to free the blades and left it in the used very heavily patinaed condition you see in the images  to preserve the knifes history

Buyer must be 18 or over to purchase this knife - We will not sell this item to anyone under 18
