A matched pair of Chinese cloisonné vases, dating to the 20th century, decorated on a rich cobalt-blue ground with traditional dragon motifs, scrolling cloud forms, and foliate borders. Each vase is finished with a brass rim and foot, typical of quality cloisonné work of this period.
The vases are well-proportioned, standing 26cm tall, and display strong colour, fine wirework, and classic iconography associated with Chinese decorative arts. When displayed as a pair, they present very attractively and retain a strong visual impact, particularly when viewed from the front or at normal display distance.
These are decorative pieces intended for interior display rather than functional use and would suit collectors of cloisonné, Chinese export wares, or bold statement décor.
Condition
🌿 Both vases show 4–5 shallow dents each which we have attempted to photograph
🌿 The dents are subtle and difficult to notice when displayed because of the metallic makeup and colouring of the vases
🌿 Enamel decoration remains vibrant with good colour saturation
🌿 Some surface wear and light enamel loss in places, visible on close inspection
🌿 Brass rims and bases show age-related patina
