A charming pair of small hand-painted porcelain trinket boxes, each decorated with romantic and classical scenes in the Continental style. These miniature boxes were traditionally used for keepsakes, jewellery, pills or dressing-table accessories, and remain wonderfully decorative today.
The larger round box (approx. 5 cm diameter) features a neoclassical scene of three figures in a pastoral landscape, with a domed lid and warm brass-coloured mount. The smaller hexagonal box carries an 18th-century-style courting couple, framed with green and gilt scrollwork.
Both boxes are hand-painted, glazed and fitted with metal mounts and hinged lids.

Condition Both boxes are in good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Light wear to metal mounts and minor surface marks to the glaze and loss from age and handling. Hinges open and close well on both pieces.
