A scarce original 1937 King Edward VIII coronation mug, produced in England as part of the official British Pottery Manufacturers Federation design series.

This historic piece was created for the planned coronation of Edward VIII on 12th May 1937, an event that never took place due to his abdication later that year. As a result, surviving examples of this mug are now sought-after items for collectors of royal memorabilia.

The mug features a vivid transfer print of King Edward VIII within the Order of the Garter, with the motto “Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense” and “Dieu et Mon Droit”. The underside carries the official Federation stamp with Union Jack shield and “Made in England.”

Condition: good for its age with light age-related crazing. Displays beautifully and retains bright colour. A rare opportunity to own a piece of royal history.

  • Height: approx. 8.5 cm

  • Maker: British Pottery Manufacturers Federation (official coronation ware)

  • Date: 1937

  • Provenance: UK estate collection

Ideal for collectors of royal commemoratives, British history, and unusual abdication-related items.
