Russian USSR MTO 1000A lens numbered N783629 with leather carrying  case containing two coloured filters 

This Soviet-made MTO 1000A 1,100mm f/10.5 mirror lens is like strapping a telescope to your camera apparently 

"МТО" is an abbreviation for "Максутова ТелеОбъектив", which means "Maksutov's Telephoto lens"

Astronomers have used this lens to get some amazing shots of the moon.

A heavy metal, solid lens that can get some fantastic shots of your subject some distance away 

Manual focus lens with a large focusing ring  - with built in hood - fixed aperture - min focus distance of 10m  so most definitely an outdoor lens 

The very long focal length and good image quality make the lens suitable for outdoor shooting of distant objects, terrain, architectural details, for photo hunting, etc.

The lens is indispensable in cases where the subject is at a very large distance (up to several kilometres) from the photographer, and when photographing it is required to obtain a large-scale image

The mirror lens is mainly used for shooting distant objects, inaccessible areas of terrain, landscapes, architectural details, animals and birds that are difficult to approach at close range.

The lens is supplied with three 120mm screw-in filters: ЖС-10 (aka УФ-1х, UV), ЖЗС-9 (aka ЖЗ-2х, Yellow/Green) and ОС-12 (aka О-2,8х, Orange)
