Small wooden jewellery casket with friendship motif velvet and satin interior.
This lovely little purpose made box was for a fine jewel back at the end of the19th century -likely given to a friend by a friend.
This is well made, with the inscription - ' En friendship me send this gift to show my best endeavour. To prove that friendship can be form tho' distance may ns sever' and image of a hand gifting a bunch of flowers too. There is the Brand name Real Silver branded into the silk liner inside
The base is worn and the top faded - the overall condition though is good with lovely working clasp and hinges
