Sterling Silver Labradorite Garnet Articulated Pendant

An unusual sterling silver pendant of articulated two-part construction, set with a beautifully polished labradorite cabochon and a small deep-red stone believed to be garnet.

The principal stone displays the distinctive blue-green flash associated with labradorite, changing in appearance as it catches the light. It is bezel-set within a circular silver mount accented by four polished silver beads.

Above it, the broad silver bail is joined to the lower section by a hinged connection, allowing the pendant to move freely when worn. A small bezel-set red cabochon, believed to be garnet, provides a particularly attractive contrasting detail.

The upper section is stamped 925. No separate mark was found on the lower mount, but the complete pendant has been tested and indicates silver.

The stones have been identified from their appearance and the information accompanying the collection but have not been independently tested by a gemologist.

CONDITION

Good pre-owned condition with surface scratches, patina, tarnishing and signs of previous wear to the silver. The stones appear secure within their settings. The labradorite has natural variations and internal markings, together with an attractive blue-green flash.

We do not heavily clean silver jewellery, leaving its new owner the choice of retaining the existing patina or polishing it to their preferred finish.
