Here we have three enamel badges from Sydenham High School in London with 'Knowledge is now no more a fountain sealed G.P.D.S.T- Sydenham ' on them 3.5cm diameter

In 1879 the GPDSC chose as its motto "Knowledge is now no more a fountain sealed", a line from Tennyson's poem 'The Princess' (1847), and this motto has been used on many badges until recently.

At the same time they also chose the head of the goddess Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom, as their emblem.

The Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) is a group of 25 independent schools, including two academies, in England and Wales, catering for girls aged 3 to 18. It is the largest group of independent schools in the UK, and educates 20,000 girls each year. It was formed in 1872 to provide affordable day-school

Sydenham High School is an independent day school for 4- to 18-year-old girls located in London, England. Sydenham High School was founded by the Girls Public Day School Trust in 1887. Since then, the original school roll of 20 pupils has grown to 724 girls. The school is separated into the senior and prep schools, each with a separate site on Westwood Hill in Sydenham.
