A distinctive vintage Italian vase dating to the 1960s, crafted in ceramic and wrapped in genuine oxblood red leather. The vase features a central hand-painted enamel panel depicting a stylised Egyptian pharaoh in striking mid-century colours of turquoise, crimson, black, and gold.
The bold graphic style and figural design are very much in the manner of Marcello Fantoni, the celebrated Florentine designer, whose work defined Italian mid-century modern ceramics. This piece, stamped “Genuine Leather – Made in Italy” to the base, reflects the same fusion of modernist form with ancient-inspired motifs that characterised Italy’s export wares of the period.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with light surface wear to the leather consistent with age. The enamel panel is vivid and intact.
