Vintage British army gilt metal and mother of pearl lighter with broad arrow ordnance mark
Vintage British army gilt metal and mother of pearl lighter with broad arrow ordnance mark
Vintage British army gilt metal and mother of pearl lighter with broad arrow ordnance mark 8.5 cm long
This is possibly a piece of very good trench art as opposed to an army issue lighter we are unsure
The broad arrow or crows foot ordnance mark has been used on British Army equipment since at least 1553 and is a helpful way of determining if everyday items are civilian or military in origin.
The flint needs replacing, but I suspect with a new flint and fuel it will work, there isn't much to go wrong on these old lighters especially army issue ones
