Vintage Doulton Lambeth Bacchus Beaker – 1932 London Sterling Silver Rim & Stoneware “The Best” Tavern Mug

A handsome vintage Doulton Lambeth stoneware beaker, modelled in the classic Bacchus design with the inscription “THE BEST” in raised relief. The jovial Bacchus face, surrounded by vine leaves and grapes, captures the traditional Doulton spirit of craftsmanship.
The rim is mounted in sterling silver, hallmarked for London, 1932, with the maker’s mark E.M.L, the lion passant for sterling, and the date letter “r”. The leopard’s head London town mark is faint but visible.
The base is impressed Doulton Lambeth England, numbered 5959, with the artist’s incised initials B.H.H., confirming authenticity.
