A finely turned vintage ebonite roller, originally part of a professional parallel rolling ruler used by draftsmen, surveyors, naval chart officers and engineers during the early 20th century. These rollers sat inside two-bar rulers and ensured smooth, precise movement across maps and architectural plans.

Beautifully crafted from dense black ebonite with distinctive lathe-turned spiral ends, this example measures 30cm in length, 20mm in diameter and weighs 122g — exactly matching the specifications of high-quality British and Continental rolling rulers from c.1900–1930.

A tactile, sculptural piece of drawing history — ideal for collectors of antique instruments, tabletop styling, or as a desk curio with real heritage.
