This vintage Dunlop Maxply Fort tennis racket, weighing 14oz, is a rare collector’s piece stamped with ‘RH’ (right-handed), ‘DA’ (Date & Assembly code), and ‘ec’ indicating mid-1970s manufacture. The racket is in excellent condition, showing minimal signs of use, complete with its original head clamp that looks nearly new from around 1975.
The Maxply Fort model, regarded as the gold standard, was produced from 1935 to 1983. This heavyweight racket features an 18x19 string pattern, a balance point of 34cm, and nearly 400 grams strung weight, making it perfect for collectors and vintage tennis enthusiasts alike.
Dunlop’s Maxply series, launched in 1932, revolutionized wooden tennis rackets by combining nine woods including ash and beech for superior performance.
