A highly collectible Royal Doulton character jug depicting the Mad Hatter from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, model number D6598. This iconic design was first issued in 1970, sculpted by David Biggs, and remains one of the most recognisable pieces in the Alice series.
This example bears the correct COPR 1970 backstamp, confirming it is from the early production period rather than a later reissue. Beautifully modelled with expressive features, glossy glazes and the trademark 10/6 hat label. The handle is formed from the Dormouse holding its perpetual calendar — a detail unique to this jug.
