A charming pair of vintage English ceramic pie funnels, ideal for collectors of traditional kitchenware or lovers of authentic mid-century British pottery. This two-piece set includes:
🌿 A classic Nutbrown white ceramic pie funnel, stamped “Nutbrown Pie Funnel – Made in England”.
🌿 A sculptural black bird pie funnel, hand-glazed with bright yellow beak detailing, designed to vent steam through the bird’s open mouth — the iconic form used in British pastry baking from the 1940s onwards.
These funnels were placed at the centre of a pie to allow steam to escape, preventing soggy pastry bases and helping maintain a crisp, even bake. They display beautifully in a country kitchen or vintage cookware collection.
The bird funnel stands approx. 10cm tall, the Nutbrown approx. 7.5cm tall, making them a well-balanced decorative pair.
