Original vintage Jaguar leaping cat bonnet mascot, cast in chrome-finished metal and removed from a Jaguar motor car. The sculptural leaper is modelled in the classic forward-jumping pose long associated with Jaguar’s design language, conveying speed, elegance and motion.
The underside bears the cast number “7 24265 2WB”, identifying it as an original Jaguar component supplied by Wilmot Breeden, a long-established manufacturer of Jaguar fittings and hardware. The mascot retains its original rectangular fixing plate with threaded bolts still in place, consistent with period vehicle mounting.
The surface shows honest wear from age and use, including light pitting and spotting to the chrome, with corrosion visible to the fixing bolts. Despite this, the detailing remains crisp and the piece displays extremely well as a standalone object.
A genuine piece of Jaguar motoring history, suitable for classic car collectors, Jaguar enthusiasts, or as a striking decorative object for a study, garage or display shelf.
