A vintage Jaguar “Leaper” bonnet mascot, chrome plated and mounted on a later hardwood display block. This classic leaping Jaguar design was used on mid-20th-century Jaguar models, produced in cast zinc alloy and plated in chrome with the distinctive muscular form and extended pose that became an enduring emblem of the marque.
This example displays the heavier, well-defined casting associated with earlier post-war production, with detailed paws, a clean profile and good overall polish to the chrome. The base is a later addition, allowing the mascot to be used as a desk or shelf display piece while retaining the presence of the original car ornament. The underside bears the expected incised marking from manufacture.
