A beautifully presented set of four vintage Japanese silk paintings, each delicately hand-painted in the classic kachō-ga (bird-and-flower) tradition. These finely detailed compositions feature small birds, butterflies, blossom branches and peonies, executed with the soft, layered brushwork characteristic of mid-20th-century Japanese silk art.
Each work is individually signed in Japanese characters and mounted within a black lacquer-style frame with a gilt inner slip. The set was framed in London by Concoti Ltd., Little Venice, W9, a respected framing shop active during the 1970s–1990s, further supporting the period attribution.
These four works make a cohesive decorative set and display beautifully either hung together or placed independently throughout a room. The silk grounds have gently aged to a warm tone, giving each scene a soft and atmospheric presence.
