Designed by renowned Danish sculptor Just Andersen (1884–1943), this piece likely dates from the mid-20th century and is cast in Disko metal, a proprietary alloy with a rich bronze tone.

Just Andersen was a renowned Danish designer and sculptor known for his distinctive metalwork in the early 20th century. He founded his own workshop in Copenhagen and became especially recognised for his use of Disko metal—a proprietary alloy named after Disko Bay in Greenland, with a warm, dark bronze tone.

Working in the Art Deco style, Andersen produced functional yet sculptural pieces including vases, candlesticks, trays, and decorative objects like this Viking ship. His works combine strong Scandinavian forms with classical and mythological influences, and remain highly collectible today for their quality craftsmanship and timeless design.
