Vintage 35cm miniature longcase grandfather clock featuring a detailed oak case, working mechanical movement, and authentic apprentice-piece craftsmanship.
Designed as a scale model of a full-size floor clock, this piece exhibits apprentice cabinet-making detail, including miniature turned wooden hood columns, lovely joinery, tiny functional brass hinges, and a stepped plinth base. The beige clock face is fitted with clear black conventional numerical hour markers and a protective bezel. At the rear, the mechanical spring-driven movement is complete with an integral winding key. The clock has been recently oiled, serviced, and is fully operational, keeping very good time.
Traditional apprentice pieces were crafted by skilled woodworking trainees to demonstrate mastery of their trade to a guild or master craftsman, making miniature clocks like this highly collectible pieces of horological history.
