A vintage Rolleiflex Twin Lens Reflex (TLR) camera by the renowned German maker Franke & Heidecke of Braunschweig, complete with its original brown leather carrying case.
This is an early Rolleiflex fitted with the highly regarded Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 7.5cm f/3.8 taking lens together with the matching Heidoscop Anastigmat viewing lens and the sought-after Compur shutter. Cameras fitted with the Tessar lens are widely regarded as some of the finest early Rolleiflex models, celebrated for their excellent optical quality and sharpness.
The camera retains its original waist-level finder, focusing hood, winding mechanism and leather strap. It also comes with its original leather ever-ready case embossed "Rolleiflex" to the front.
Everything opens, closes and appears to function mechanically as it should. The focusing screen is present and the lenses appear clear to the naked eye. However, the camera has not been film tested, serviced or cleaned, and is therefore offered exactly as found.
The leather carrying case has survived well although the shoulder strap has broken with age.
An increasingly collectible camera that would make an excellent addition to a vintage camera collection, display, or could be returned to use following servicing.
