A vintage Sadler Staffordshire ceramic teapot from the Shakespeare series, this example depicting Hamlet, with the scene of Hamlet and the Ghost on the battlements of Elsinore. Produced in the late 20th century, it carries the Sadler mark to the base along with the printed quotation from Act I, Scene V and the registered design number 2010603 (pattern 4443).
The lid is finished with the characteristic Sadler theatrical styling, complete with gilt detail and a domed finial. The body is square-formed with slightly waisted sides and measures approximately 19cm across.
