A vintage ceramic mallard duck pourer by Tony Wood, Staffordshire, England, modelled as a standing mallard drake with removable filling stopper concealed within the back. The contents are poured through the duck's open beak, making it suitable as a decorative decanter, novelty drinks pourer, cruet or display piece.
Tony Wood pottery is well known for producing ceramic character and animal wares in Staffordshire during the twentieth century. This example is finished in realistic hand-painted colours with moulded feather detail and is fully marked to the base.
An attractive decorative piece for country house interiors, kitchens, bars, pub displays or collectors of Staffordshire pottery and novelty ceramics.

Condition
Good vintage condition.
No chips, cracks or restoration. There is a very small manufacturing nick to the inside edge of the removable stopper, which is not visible when fitted and appears to have occurred during production. The stopper fits correctly and the piece displays well.
