A genuine Wallace & Gromit Rapide-O-Matic Preserves Dispenser, produced as a promotional advertising item for Kingsmill during the height of the popularity of Nick Park’s Wallace & Gromit characters.
This well-known novelty dispenser features Wallace riding a motorcycle with Gromit seated in the sidecar, which doubles as the jam reservoir. The dispenser operates via a wind-up mechanism activated by rolling the rear wheel, allowing it to travel across the table while dispensing preserves into the removable pot.
This example is notable for retaining the original metal spoon, an early and increasingly uncommon component, as many surviving examples are now missing the spoon or have later black plastic replacements. The set also includes the original printed instruction leaflet.
The original Kingsmill box is present but heavily worn and is included for completeness rather than display.
